APPROACH PRODUCTS WILL MAKE AVIONIC INSTALLS AND UPGRADES FAST, COST-EFFECTIVE AND SAFE.
|OREM, Utah, April 1, 2022 - Approach Systems Corporation (
www.approach-systems.com), a manufacturer of aviation electronic products, will soon announce availability
of products designed and developed to make it simple, safe and economical to upgrade and install aircraft
avionics systems (basic, VFR and IFR panels and electronics) for the general aviation market including
certified aircrafts, kit planes and light-sport aircraft.
Approach Systems Corporation is a private company located near Salt Lake City, Utah. The company's founders have a long history in the aviation industry dating back to the 1970's with commercial aircraft electronic systems as well as backgrounds in founding successful companies based on technologically leading products located in Silicon Valley.
Approach products are based on modular technologies using aerospace standard components, materials and computer technology. Approach products represent several attributes.
Fast - A modular, plug and play system standardizing instrument panel wiring built around a central junction hub and professionally made cables and connectors designed specifically for leading avionic products in the industry. Simply install the Approach hub, select the appropriate Approach cables, and plug it in and your done.
Cost-effective- Virtually no hand wiring means dramatically reduced install and upgrade times and elimination of the troubleshooting and debugging process. Also, Approach's products will significantly reduce the downtime of aircraft and make future maintainability and avionic upgrading economical and fast.
Safe- The Approach system removes the complex "rat's nest" of wiring behind the instrument panel. In addition, grounding will be centralized and the utilization of uniform cable shielding reduces electronic noise and other associated problems of hand wiring increasing reliability and lifetime performance of avionics. Approach hubs are extremely rugged with a conductive anodization for central grounding. All Approach cables are Milspec Tefzel with an additional polyolefin jacket increasing wiring longevity and making it easier to secure the cables away from moving objects. Approach hubs are not "active" components and Approach cables comply with FAA AC43-13B.
"Approach is working to modernize the instrument panel and the avionics installation process." Said Kieth Sorenson, Approach's President. "If people looked behind their car dash and saw the same rat's nest of wiring that is behind their aircraft instrument panel-they probably wouldn't drive the car. As a past owner of several avionic sales and install shops and with the popularity of some the new, exciting technologies coming out like GPS, it's time that the barriers to the installation of new avionics such as unknown labor costs, technical complexity in panel wiring, non-standardized wiring practices and aircraft downtime are finally removed."
Approach Systems is focused on developing products to automate the upgrade and retrofit process of general aviation electronics (avionics). For more information, visit www.approach-systems.com.
